Meet Papagayo
En Venezuela, la palabra papagayo tiene una riqueza cultural inmensa.
Depending on where you are, “papagayo” can mean two very different things.
In much of the world, it’s a parrot — colorful, curious, noisy, and born to fly. But in Venezuela, a papagayo is something else entirely. It’s a kite. The kind made by hand from paper, sticks, string, and a little imagination. We fell in love with the fact that one word could hold both.
A bird belongs to the sky from the very beginning. It is wild, curious, and already free. A kite starts somewhere quieter. Someone has to build it, pick it up, run with it, and give it that first push into the wind.
That’s how we think about stories.
We create the world. We give it the first push. You hold the string.
Where it goes from there - how high it flies, what it makes you imagine, and how far it carries you — belongs to you.
Papagayo began with our own story and the places, people, memories, and mountains that made us who we are. But we’re not building just one story, or even one world. We’re building many.
Some may feel familiar. Others may take you somewhere completely new. But we hope they all leave you with the same thing: a little more courage, a little more wonder, and a reason to keep looking toward the sky.
Because we believe stories should feel like an adventure - and a little bit like home.

Papagayo stories can hold difficult moments, frustration, and a little chaos- but hopelessness never gets the final word.
